Private Instruction
Instrumental Lessons
Individual lessons are available for erhu, zheng, dizi, yangqin, pipa, and liuqin. All levels of learning are taught by members of Music From China, with careful attention to individual needs and abilities. Students may take weekly lessons of 30, 45, or 60 minutes.
Instruments:
Erhu2-string spiked fiddle with snakeskin resonator. A horsehair bow passes between the strings and is drawn with inward or outward pressure of the fingers. |
Pipa 4-string, pear-shaped lute. The five fingers of the right hand pluck the strings consecutively to create a roll for tremolo effects. Strumming and other percussive techniques are also important. |
